Why Is Poverty And Poor People Ignored During Elections?

You notice both presidential campaigns are quick to talk about middle-income
working people and the middle class families but neither will discuss the
concerns of low-incoming working people and neither will dare utter the
word "Poverty".

The U.S. Department of Labor Statistic reports that one in eight Americans
lives in poverty, which is defined as an income less than $20,000 for a
family of four. Nearly 30 percent of households are low-income, which means
an income below $40,000 for a family of four. If you do the math, 90 million
Americans are considered low income or "lower-class" and 39 million of those
are living in poverty.

90 million people are a huge voting block, you would think candidates from
both party would be jumping through hoops to cater to that large number of
potential voters but they don't.

So why do politicians often mention the "middle class" rather than "the
middle and lower class." Would not they want to be more inclusive?

Once upon a time, Democrats presented themselves as champions of the poor,
but they continued to get trounced in presidential elections. Candidates
such as Walter Mondale and Michael Dukakis during the 1980s were depicted as
"liberal" and "out of touch." Many members of the middle class, especially
the upper-middle class, displayed a backlash against the lower class. Thus
came the emergence of the more conservative New Democrats, led by Bill
Clinton, who won in 1992 with his "forgotten middle class" theme.

Since then, the issues of poor people are pretty much left off the table.
Think about it. When was the last time we saw a candidate campaigning in a
ghetto?

Harvard University's Shorenstein Center on the Press, Politics and Public
Policy conducted the "Vanishing Voter Project." Among the findings: "The
decline in (voter) participation has been concentrated among Americans of
low income. Although a class bias in turnout has been a persistent feature
of U.S. elections, the gap has widened to a chasm. The voting rate among
those at the bottom of the income ladder is only half that of those at the
top."

In this 2 party political system we have in America, there are two ways to
get your issues into the national political dialog. 1) Contribute large
amounts of money - The Business Community, AIPAC, NRA, Upper Class Voters,
etc. 2) Be a large dedicated voting block - White Evangelicals, gun owners,
white middle class voters, etc.

Now lower class voters may not be able to donate too much money, but they
should at least be voting. If 50, 60, or 70 percent of lower class people
voted, and voted on economic issues rather than divisive social issues, they
may be able to get people in power that care about their issues. But if they
give up then you get people like Reagan, the Bushes, McCain who only care about
the rich and you get Democratic candidates who refuse to discuss your issues
for fear of scaring off a more dedicated group of voters.

McCain Says He Will "Test" Our Enemy

It seem the old warmongering McCain is at it again, talking about starting more wars. According to Swamppolitics:

"I'm gonna test them,'' Republican John McCain said at a campaign rally in New Mexico this morning. "They're not gonna test me.''

The comment followed McCain's warning that Democratic rival Barack Obama's camaign has "guaranteed'' people that the nation will face a test from enemies within months of Obama's election as president -- something that running mate Joe Biden asserted last weekend, Biden following that line with a remark that Obama has a "spine of steel'' for that test.

The McCain campaign has taken Biden's words, and put them in an ominous campaign TV ad warning that the younger, relatively inexperienced candidate for president will be tested by the nation's adversaries if he is elected. It doesn't have to happen, the McCain ad says

****
But today, McCain raised a new question that could escalate that sound-bite campaign war: Who is he "gonna test'' if elected president? And how?

"I have been tested,'' McCain said, with a certain gritted-teeth look at the state fairgrounds in New Mexico. "I'm gonna test them. They're not gonna test me.''.

A poster on Theygaveusarepublic describe this whole sorry McCain act perfectly:

I am not concerned about Obama's so-called lack of experience, and by the way, that is a stupid fucking argument, perpetuated by a desperate campaign and foisted on gullible morons. There is no training program for the presidency except the presidency. By that argument, the only person ever elected with experience was Grover Cleveland, and his second term isn't remembered as the halcyon days of American governance. Kennedy, on the other hand, who was similarly attacked, is fondly remembered for a steady hand and innate good governance, so STFU with the "experience" stalking horse already.

I am far more concerned about a warmongering old fool who sings "bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran," laughs that creepy laugh and makes blustering, chest-thumping comments about testing "them" than I am about a young and thoughtful man who has moved every piece perfectly in this electoral chess match.

Bluster like that is, quite frankly, terrifying when it comes from a congenital asshole like McCain who has a violent temper, untreated psychological issues, a Napoleon complex and no impulse control. Can't you see him banging his $500 Ferragamo loafer on a podium while threatening to annihilate opponents. And rejecting that sort of bellicosity is the kind of change we need.

I couldn't have said it better myself.

Spike Lee: Hip Hop Changed American Politics, Race Relations

From Hiphopdx.com

With a body of work that includes Bamboozled, Jungle Fever and Do the Right Thing, Spike Lee has never been gun shy about voicing his opinion on race relations in America. When the Academy Award nominated director was asked about the "Bradley Effect" and how it relates to the upcoming presidential election, his candid answer gave credit to an unlikely source.

"I don't go with this Bradley Effect," Lee tells MSNBC's Joe Scarborough. "That was what, 1984? That's last century. America's made a seismic shift as far as race goes. These young white kids who grew up listening to Hip Hop don't have the same views that their parents and grandparents had. I think these polls aren't reaching these young white kids. There aren't enough African Americans in this country to get Obama elected. He took the Iowa caucus! There's two black people in Iowa...maybe three."
When the subject turned to Lee's beloved New York Knicks, he said he still held out hope of landing LeBron James as a free agent in 2010. Since Jay-Z has a minority stake in the team, there has been speculation that James will to join the Nets when they move to Brooklyn.

"LeBron told me himself, that his decision will not be based upon his friendship with 'Hova,'" says Lee. His hopes for James to join the Knicks come as an unnamed New Jersey Nets official, tells the Bergen Record that the current financial crunch is having adverse effects on the team's hopes of moving to Brooklyn.
"Bruce [Ratner] just won’t end up with the money to do it," the official said. "Forget it."

Spike Lee's latest directorial effort, Miracle At St. Anna, is in theaters now. Lee can also be found alongside Ludacris, 9th Wonder and Common on "Do the Right Thing" from Ludacris' upcoming album Theater of the Mind.

D.L. Hughley CNN Show .... An Embarrassment To Blacks?

You've probably heard by now that CNN gave comedian D.L. Hughley a show. The
show is titled "D.L. Hughley Breaks the News" and Hughley is suppose to
present the news with a comedic twist to it like The Daily Show with Jon
Stewart and the Colbert Report with Stephen Colbert on Comedy Central. Based
on the first episode which premiered on October 25, some black people do not
think it was funny at all as a matter of fact some blacks think it was an
embarrassment and a disgrace.

Before we go any further take look at a segment from the show and remember
this is a program on CNN not BET or Comedy Central:

Joe Madison, black talk show host on XM 169 the power had a discussion about the program on his show this morning and the listeners calling in basically said the new D.L. Hughley show is an insult to African Americans. Here is what Christopher J. Metzler at the Daily Voice had to say about the new Hughley show:

As the election draws to a close, one major cable news network decided to
discuss race in a mephitic way, reminiscent of "Amos and Andy", a situation
comedy based on reinforcing stereotypes about blacks and widely popular in
the United States from the 1920s through the 1950s.

The show's anchor warned that the election of a President Obama would lead
to a health plan with grills for all. Grills are shining metal caps worn on
the teeth of blacks while they drink malt liquor from a paper bag. His
guest, "Freddie Mack," attired in the traditional pimp attire complete with
hat and bling, described Obama's fund raising prowess as "Big pimping." In
fact, Freddie Mack went on to say, "Politicians are pimps and the electorate
are their hoes." Thus, he reasoned, "bitch better have my money." In a
response dripping with racism and misogyny, he reminded Americans that the
financial crisis was about his sister Fannie May or Fannie may not again,
utilizing the hoe moniker for black women.

The anchor also predicted that the election of a President Obama would
result in a meteor striking America. His expert guest assured him of two
things. The first is that such would not happen during an Obama
administration and that if it did, blacks would be protected because of the
complexion of our skin while whites would not. As if this was not enough,
the anchor conducted an interview in which a black maid of a Jewish woman
decried her years as a maid for that Jewish woman and warned that she would
"clean her clock" if the old Jewish woman did not vote for Obama. Of course,
besides portraying black women as violent, it also escalated the issue of
Jews voting for Obama during this election. The message, it seems, is that
blacks cannot convince with the facts but with fists.

***
McCain and Palin [has] created a racially charged atmosphere at some of
their rallies which resulted in shouts of "kill him, off with his head, and
terrorist" referring to Senator Obama. I have said that such an
atmosphere is akin to the lynch mobs rallies which resulted in the
gratuitous lynching of black men especially during the Jim Crow era. These
rallies and the attendant racially tinged atmosphere were condemned by CNN.

Now, in a shameless show of hypocrisy, CNN -- like the slave masters who
profited from racism and slavery -- has decided that there is still money in
racism and found just the Negro to help it cash in. At 10 P.M. on Saturday,
October, 25, 2008, CNN premiered D.L. Hughley Breaks the News.

Now I've never really had a problem with D.L. but dude got to come better than
he did on the first episode. That shit was corny. Barack Obama has raised
the bar if you get a show on a major news network you can't go on there
with your Shucking and Jiving routine, you got to represent. D.L. need to get some more writers or something and come up with some witty intelligent shit, or he need to tell CNN thanks but no thanks.

More Racism, Hate At Palin's Rally in Vegas

From Crooksandliars

In LasVegas, videographer Matt Toplikar captured footage of McCain/Palin supporters as they came out from a rally featuring an appearance by Sarah Palin.

One camouflage-capped fellow captures the spirit of the event:

Obama wins, I'm gonna move to Alaska.

... Haven't you ever heard that the United States is gonna be taken down from within? What better way to get taken down from within than haveing the President of the United States be the one that's going to do it?

It seems they became especially aggravated when they encountered anti-McCain protesters outside. The same Alaska-bound supporter started leading a chant in front of them:

Vote McCain, Not Hussein!

Then there's the Pam Atlas wannabee:

This country needs to wake up! Obama is dangerous! This man is a tyrant to this country. I mean, he has connections to Arabs! His education was paid for by Arabs! He's an abomination.

And of course, the obligatory racist:

Don't be afraid of me! Be afraid of Obama! Obama bin Laden, that's what you should be afraid of!

... Yes, I am a racist. If you consider me a racist, well [unintelligible]. Those Arabs are dirtbags. They're dirty people, they hate Americans, they hate my kids, they hate my grandkids. And people like him [points to another supporter], more power to them.

McCain and Palin have somewhat ratcheted back their rhetoric, but the fuse has been lit.

You can watch the video here

I don't know about you but I'm so sick of these angry, illerate rednecks and their fucking hatred of anybody black or brown. Fuck those assclowns and fuck Sarah Palin, I'll be glad when this election is over so she can take her hill-billy as back to Alaska and I hope we never have to see that racist bitch again.

Neo Nazi Plot to Kill Obama, African Americans Foiled

From MSNBC:

A plot by two Neo-Nazi skinheads to assassinate Barack Obama and kill dozens of other African Americans has been foiled, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms said Monday.

Daniel Cowart, 20, of Bells, Tenn., and Paul Schlesselman, 18, of West Helena, Ark., were charged Friday with making threats against a presidential candidate, illegal possession of a sawed-off shotgun and conspiracy to rob a gun store.

Jim Cavanaugh, special agent in charge of the Nashville ATF field office, said the two men sought to go on a national killing spree that included an unnamed African-American school, with Obama as their final target.

The two planned to shoot 88 black people and decapitate another 14, he added. The numbers 88 and 14 are symbolic in the white supremacist community.

“They said that would be their last, final act — that they would attempt to kill Sen. Obama,” Cavanaugh said. “They didn’t believe they would be able to do it, but that they would get killed trying.”

You know these white supremecist hate groups have been laying low for the the last eight years, I assume because they've had their guy "W" in the White house. In the 90's under Clinton they were pretty active. You had the white militia groups training for warfare and of course you can not forget the infamous Timothy McVeigh committing the most deadly act of domestic terrorism in the history of this country.

Well these boys are back and are angry as hell that a black man is about to become President of white america. I'm afraid we will be hearing more and more about these fuckers in the future.

For you little so called gang bangers and other haters out there in the black community, you better wake up and stop committing violence and hating on your own people and realize that there is a real enemy out there that despises you. They would like to commit harm against you and your community simply because of the color of your skin.

We got to stand up strong, stand together and stand with Barack Obama.

Latest News On The Hudson Family Tragedy

From From EONLINE.COM:

The heartbreaking news coming out of Chicago continues as the Cook County medical examiner's office confirmed today to E! News that it was Jennifer Hudson who identified the bodies of her mother and brother, who died of multiple gunshot wounds on Friday.

Hudson herself has spoken out for the first time since the double homicide. On behalf of her family, the Oscar winner took to her MySpace blog to ask the public for help in finding her missing 7-year-old nephew, Julian King.

"Thank you all for your prayers and your calls. Please keep praying for our family and that we get Julian King back home safely. If anyone has any information about his whereabouts please contact the authorities immediately. Here is a picture of Julian and what he was last seen wearing. Once again thank you all for being there for us through this tough time."

Family Member Held in Hudson Murders

From Hiphopdx.com:

A suspect is in police custody following the Friday murders of singer Jennifer Hudson’s mother and bother according to the Chicago Sun-Times and Chicago Tribune.

Police took Hudson’s brother-in-law, William Balfour into custody in connection with the shooting. The 27-year-old was out on parole after serving time for several violent crimes, including attempted murder and carjacking, according to an MTV report.

Balfour had been on parole in 2006 and would have completed parole next year.
Chicago authorities consider the double homicide a case of domestic violence. Balfour was involved with Hudson’s sister Julia, who identified Balfour as her husband on a MySpace page. Balfour also lived at the residence where the shooting took place.

Hudson’s nephew, Julian King, 7, was declared missing after police investigated the scene. An Amber Alert has been issued. King is 4 feet 11 inches tall, is 130 pounds and has brown eyes and black hair.

Despite Balfour’s apprehension, King is still considered missing. Hudson, who flew to Chicago from Tampa, Florida after receiving the news, has not commented on the murders as of press time

Another Lynching in Texas?

This is a story that's under the radar at the moment. I came across it over at Final Call.com. It took place in Paris, Texas. The body of Brandon McClelland a 24 year old black man was found mutilated and dismembered in the middle of a busy road, the local police are calling it a hit and run accident but the McClelland family think it was a hate crime.
When the body of a 24-year-old Black man in Paris, Texas was discovered in the middle of a busy road, law enforcement declared the case a hit and run by an unidentified driver.

Now this small racially-divided town’s worst fears are brewing, with evidence pointing towards two White men who picked up Brandon Clelland in their Dodge truck before he was found mutilated and dismembered in September.

Forensics performed by the Texas Rangers found blood from Mr. McClelland and other DNA evidence on the undercarriage of the truck which has the victim’s family calling the death a “Jasper-style” lynching. The term is a reference to the murder of a Black man in Jasper, Texas in 1998.

“The[y] tied my son to that truck and drugged him until his body parts were detached,” said Jacqueline McClelland, the victim’s mother in an interview with The Final Call. “His body was so destroyed that it could not even be embalmed by the funeral home. This is a hate crime. I don’t want the death penalty for these killers because that would be too quick. I want them to suffer for life in jail without parole since I will never have my son back.”

Angry family members and community activists, however, are demanding a thorough investigation into a possible hate crime they say parallels the lynching of James Byrd Jr., in Jasper, Texas, which is several hours south of Paris.

I will continue to check on this story for further developments.

Palin Pissed At Her Campaign Handlers

You can tell when a campaign is sinking fast and know that they are going to get their ass handed it to them on election day. Why? Because they start pointing fingers and looking for others to blame BEFORE election day. If an election is close all the way to the end, the losing campaign normally point fingers after election day.

It seems Caribou Barbie, Gov. Sarah Palin is now frustrated with her handlers that were assigned to her by the McCain campaign. She's blaming the former Bush aides that were assigned to her for her now tarnished public image. There is a story of this on Politico in which she is starting to disregard the advice of her campaign managers:

Four Republicans close to Palin said she has decided increasingly to disregard the advice of the former Bush aides tasked to handle her, creating occasionally tense situations as she travels the country with them. Those Palin supporters, inside the campaign and out, said Palin blames her handlers for a botched rollout and a tarnished public image — even as others in McCain's camp blame the pick of the relatively inexperienced Alaska governor, and her public performance, for McCain's decline.

Let the finger pointing and the blame game begin, Palin is blaming her handlers and other people in the campaign are blaming her.

"She's lost confidence in most of the people on the plane," said a senior Republican who speaks to Palin, referring to her campaign jet. He said Palin had begun to "go rogue" in some of her public pronouncements and decisions.

"I think she'd like to go more rogue," he said.

I wonder what the old man at the head of the ticket have to say about Sarah deciding to go "Rogue" this late in the game. I got news for the McCain campaign, the entire campaign has been pathetic and has been totally outclassed by the Obama campaign. And as for Sarah Palin, homegirl is just not ready for the big stage, she can blame who ever you want but she need to look in the mirror. Just because she was popular in Eskimo country doesn't mean she will be a hit in the lower 48.

McCain Supporter Lied About Mugging

I had wrote about this story yesterday, you can read it here. A young white woman, who we now find out is a McCain supporter, claimed she was robbed and assaulted by a big black guy who carved a "B" on her face after he realized she was a McCain supporter. I said at the time that the story sounded fishy, well come to find out after her story was not adding up she has confessed that the story was a hoax. A MOTHERFUCKING HOAX!

I don't know what they are going to charge her with but considering Amerikkka'a past, she should get more than a slap on the wrist, the heifer should be charged with a hate crime IMHO.

A couple of generations ago if she would have did this, there would have been some angry white mob roaming around looking for some black guy to lynch. Even today in 2008 with the racial tension directed against Barack Obama candidacy there could have been some racial violence going on in this day and age, all it takes is a spark.

Now there is a story over on Daily Kos that says the McCain campaign actually pushed the story. Here is what is being said:

John McCain's Pennsylvania communications director told reporters in the state an incendiary version of the hoax story about the attack on a McCain volunteer well before the facts of the case were known or established -- and even told reporters outright that the "B" carved into the victim's cheek stood for "Barack," according to multiple sources familiar with the discussions.

John Verrilli, the news director for KDKA in Pittsburgh, told TPM Election Central that McCain's Pennsylvania campaign communications director gave one of his reporters a detailed version of the attack that included a claim that the alleged attacker said, "You're with the McCain campaign? I'm going to teach you a lesson."

The McCain spokesperson's claims -- which came in the midst of extraordinary and heated conversations late yesterday between the McCain campaign, local TV stations, and the Obama camp, as the early version of the story rocketed around the political world -- is significant because it reveals a McCain official pushing a version of the story that was far more explosive than the available or confirmed facts permitted at the time.

So McCain campaign was willing to push a story before it was even confirmed that could have caused a racial war in this country just to win this election. McCain and his campaign is pathetic.

Black Obama Supporter Mugs White Woman?

I just saw this story on the news about a black 'Obama Supporter' who allegedly mugged a white woman and when he turned away he noticed she had a John McCain sticker on her car he turned back around and carved a 'B' on her face. First thought that popped in my head was that the Republicans were up to their old dirty tricks again. I guess we can call this Willie Horton II or Willie Horton 2.0. Here is the story just in case you haven't heard about:

A 20-year-old woman who was robbed at an ATM in Bloomfield was also maimed by her attacker, police said.

Pittsburgh police spokeswoman Diane Richard tells Channel 4 Action News that the victim was robbed at knifepoint on Wednesday night outside of a Citizens Bank near Liberty Avenue and Pearl Street just before 9 p.m.

Richard said the robber took $60 from the woman, then became angry when he saw a McCain bumper sticker on the victim's car. The attacker then punched and kicked the victim, before using the knife to scratch the letter "B" into her face, Richard said.

Richard said the woman refused medical treatment after the assault, which happened outside the view of the bank's surveillance cameras.

The robber is described as a dark-skinned black man, 6 feet 4 inches tall, 200 pounds with a medium build, short black hair and brown eyes. The man was wearing dark colored jeans, a black undershirt and black shoes.

Now let me get this straight, after the incident the woman refused any medical attention and the incident happened outside of the view of the surveillance cameras. In other words we are suppose to just take her word for it.

Fuck that! Something smell fishy as old cooch. McCain and the Republican party are desperate as hell and their looking for any thing to latch on to to try to rile up their knuckle dragging base, even if it means initiating a race war. Republicans don't care about this country, they only care about maintaining power at all cost even if it means starting riots in the street.

So people hold on to your hats because the next 13 days is going to be something to remember. Besides you can't hold Barack Obama responsible for everything a black person do just like you didn't hold Bush or McCain responsible for what Timothy McVeigh did.

Edit: This incident just happen to take place in the battleground state of Pennsylvania, a state in which the McCain campaign must win and is trailing by double digits.

The Rumor Mill: Usher creeping around/ Obama's law suit/50 Cent & The Game Callabo?

The latest Rumors or News you cant Use

The rumors about Usher and his wife continue to heat up as new word has emerged that Usher could be messing around with Destiny's Child member, Kelly Rowland.

According to the Daily Star, Usher, Kelly Rowland and Nelly, who were all in the UK for Radio 1's Big Weekend, spent the six figure sum on champagne and vodka at the city's Amika nightclub. A fellow clubgoer reports: "They were all having a great time celebrating the success of Kelly's new album and every time they bought another bottle, the DJ played one of their songs so they thought it was a riot to keep buying."

Other reports are surfacing as well that the top selling male singer of the decade has actually moved on to spending lots of time on the low with a new celeb "friend." And this new "friend" spends A LOT of time in Europe.

According to numerous sources Barack Obama is not in Hawaii to help his ailing grandmother, he's there for a lawsuit over his citizenship. Sources are saying Obama is being sued in the state over his unconfirmed US citizenship and birth certificate which many say has been altered. If you're keeping track this is the second lawsuit of its kind filed against Barack Obama over his citizenship or lack there of.

THE GAME AND 50 CENT ON ONE SONG?

There are rumors abound that Busta Rhymes has managed to get 50 Cent and The Game on the same record for his album. How? Well, there is a pre-existing song that features 50 Cent. Busta convinced The Game to do a song for a remix of said record. Well, 50 Cent gave his permission to appear on the remix with The Game for the promo value for his own record, Before I Self Destruct. I heard it is going to hit the net really soon. Stay tuned.

Obama Resoles his shoes while Palin spends $150K on her wardrobe

The talk of the day is that the McCain campaign spent over $150,000.00 on the Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin's wardrobe:

Since her selection as John McCain's running mate, the Republican National Committee spent more than $150,000 on clothing and make-up for Gov. Sarah Palin, her husband, and even her infant son, it was reported on Tuesday evening.

That entertaining scoop -- which came by way of Politico -- sent almost immediate reverberations through the presidential race. A statement from McCain headquarters released hours after the article bemoaned the triviality of the whole affair.

"With all of the important issues facing the country right now, it's remarkable that we're spending time talking about pantsuits and blouses," said spokesperson Tracey Schmitt. "It was always the intent that the clothing go to a charitable purpose after the campaign."

Normally this wouldn't be a big story but it's been the McCain Campaign along with Sarah Palin as the lead attack dog claiming Senator Obama is an elitist and is out of touch with "Regular People" in small towns. You've heard the McCain Campaign's talking points that Sarah Palin is the small town 'Hockey Mom' who can relate to 'Joe Six Pack' and is the only one looking out for 'Joe the Plumber'.

The story is not about the money she spent it's about the hypocrisy and how easily the Republican Party are able to dupe their followers. You think 'Joe Six Pack' can afford to go to Saks Fifth Ave and Neiman Marcus and spend over $150K on a fucking shopping spree? That's is at least a 3 year salary for Joe the Plumber.

Now compare Gov. Palin's splurging with a Picture of Obama I came across today, which had the following caption:

"Senator Obama was doing press interviews by telephone in a holding room between events. Sometime later as he was getting ready to begin his event, he asked me if I was photographing his shoes. When I said yes, he told me that he had already had them resoled once since he entered the race a year earlier. Providence, R.I., 3/1/2008."

So Obama wears the same shoes for over a year and even get his shoes resoled while Sarah Palin goes out and spends $150K on clothes and her hair in the 7 weeks she's been on the national stage. Now who do you think is more like ordinary people? The Republicans are all about stories and slogans, they are dishonest and are without any substance. They rely on the common folks being dumb enough to fall for their smoke and mirrors. But not this time.

Family Guy pokes fun at McCain Campaign with Nazi reference

A Sunday night episode of the Fox animated series “Family Guy” stirred up trouble by suggesting rather directly that Nazi officers would have supported the McCain-Palin ticket. And it was another arm of the News Corp. conglomerate, Fox News Channel, that first reported on the episode.

Fox (the broadcast network) aired the episode in which Stewie, the obnoxious baby character at the center of the series, and Brian, a talking dog, traveled back in time to Poland during the 1939 German invasion. The characters ambush Nazi soldiers in an alley and steal their uniforms so they can travel without drawing attention. Putting on an overcoat, Stewie notices a McCain-Palin campaign button affixed to the lapel. “Huh, that’s weird,” Stewie remarks.

“Family Guy” has never been known for its taste level. One recent episode depicted Jesus binge drinking, and the hit show once got in trouble with the Federal Communications Commission for showing a partially nude cartoon character. The series’ creator, Seth MacFarlane, is a prominent supporter of Barack Obama’s presidential bid. So fans of the program seemed to take the scene in stride: by mid-day Monday, the vast majority of blog mentions of the episode were favorable.

I have to admit Family Guy is the funniest and best animated show on TV right now. Boondocks is good also but season 2 did not live up to the first season and plus it takes the Boondock creaters too damn long to produce a season. So for now it's Family Guy all the way.

Hugo Chavez Celebrates 'Comrade' Bush's Conversion to Socialism

With Senator McCain's campaign new desperate attempt to paint Barack Obama as a socialist, someone need to remind him what the true meaning of socialism is. The latest government bailout of the financial markets in which McCain and George Bush supported could be considered socialism. Hugo Chavez joked about Bush turning into a socialist with his recent bailout of the finacial markets with tax payer money:

Excerpt:
Chavez, who describes capitalism as evil, ridiculed Mr Bush for his plan to buy stocks in American banks despite his widespread criticism of Venezuelan nationalisations.

"Bush is to the left of me now," Mr Chavez told an audience at a debate on the benefits of socialism. "Comrade Bush announced he will buy shares in private banks."

Chavez, who has insulted Mr Bush in the past as a drunkard or the devil, accused him of parroting the words of his aides without understanding the new policies that rely on heavy state intervention.

"I am convinced he has got no idea what's going on," said Mr Chavez, who has nationalised large parts of the Venezuelan economy in recent years and is in negotiations to take over a Spanish bank.

The Bush administration, which has promoted free-market policies throughout Latin America, resisted taking shares in banks for weeks. But, faced with a spiralling financial crisis, it reversed course this week with a multi-billion dollar plan.

Mr Chavez, who the US labels an autocrat, is a vocal critic of Mr Bush.

And the winner is.....Lil Weezy

The 2008 BET Hip-Hop Awards was taped last Saturday (October 18) in Atlanta's Civic Center with New Orleans rapper Lil' Wayne coming out on top.

Emcee Colin Powell gets down

Colin Powell was using his emcee and dancing skills to reach a younger crowd at London’s Africa Rising Festival:

Former secretary of state Colin Powell is the latest politician to get the urge to emcee, as the respected Washington veteran performed an impromptu freestyle this week at London’s Africa Rising Festival. The festival, which has become a popular showcase for African music and culture, paired Powell with African rapper Olu Maintain, originator of the Nigerian dance and song “Yahoozee.” Powell, to the crowd’s shock, alternated between performing the dance and spitting various call and response chants into the mic. After his set’s conclusion, Powell took a moment to pontificate with the crowd on the importance of African heritage, acknowledging their culture and never dismissing or forgetting it despite their achievements. “I stand before you as an African-American,” Powell reflected. “ Many people have said to me you became secretary of state of the USA, is it still necessary to say that you are an African-American or that you are black? And I say yes, so that we can remind our children.”

Well, there’s nothing like an influential person doing whatever is necessary to get the job done. Colin is legit, but the cat with the burgundy blouse on that is 2 sizes too small…not so much.

On another note speaking of Colin Powell, I admire his accomplishment but I still can't forgive him for what he did. Let's just remember: Colin Powell is one of the major reasons we went to war in Iraq. In his 2003 United Nations speech, he perpetrated one of the biggest frauds in the history of international diplomacy - a deliberate and calculated fraud that, in terms of its blood-and-guts ramifications, dwarfs major scandals like Watergate. Sure, there were certainly other Bush officials who helped get us into war. But to deny that Colin Powell was a major factor in sending us into a war based on lies is to quite literally deny that the sky is blue.

Got to keep it real

Ba-Rock Star: Obama draws historic crowd in St. Louis, MO

Wow! Have there ever been a politician in America that generated so much excitement? Today in St. Louis, One hundred thousand people turned out to a rally held by Barack Obama the Rock Star. America has a lot riding on the next presidential election so I'm happy to see that people are engaged, I just hope they make the right decision.

One reason McCain picked Sarah Palin was to try to compete with the celebrity of Barack Obama and to generate some excitement for his campaign. So if that's the case Sarah, you got a lot of work to do beeotch!

D.L. Hughley to join CNN

Look like D.L. Hughley is making some major moves. The brother has joined CNN and I'm interested to here his take on the shit that's going on in the country right now. I read this over at Hiphopdx.com:

After starring in his own sitcom, The Hughley’s and traveling nationwide on the highly successful Original Kings of Comedy tour, D.L. Hughley is ready to try his hand at “reporting” news Saturday nights on CNN. Currently titled D.L. Hughley Breaks the News, Hughley will poke fun at current events, as well as interview political figureheads in front of a live audience every weekend.

In a press release statement, Hughley was adamant about the new gig that will see him sitting alongside a reputable list of well-established anchors. “I am very excited for the opportunity to work with the network that I have watched for a very long time, and that to a large extent, has shaped my comedic view,” Hughley stated. Hoping to provide a fresh face to a network that caters to an average age of 56, Hughley continued, “CNN offers the perfect blend of news and information on a local, national and international level. What more can a comedian ask for?”

CNN U.S. President Joe Klein reiterated this same point adding, “When you watch as much news as our audience does, there comes a time you just want to stop and laugh -- and that time will be Saturday nights at 10 on CNN.” Providing an overall scope of the new show, Klein explained, “The basic premise of the show is, what if a guy like [Hughley] was let loose in the CNN building for a weekend after the lights went off?”
D.L. Hughley Breaks the News will

Should be interesting, I never saw that coming, stay tuned.

The woman who was attacked by Knight, his former girlfriend, is currently missing. After her apartment was visited by police seeking to re-interview her the police were then informed by neighbors that she had not been seen and here whereabouts were unknown.
Back in August, the woman was allegedly kicked and punched by Knight and then left naked on the streets.
For the past few months Knight has seen his fair share of conflict. A few months before he allegedly attacked his girlfriend he was himself attacked at a nightclub in Los Angeles.

Jesse Jackson: 'Zionists Control US, to Lose Clout Under Obama'

As U.S. President, Democratic candidate Barack Obama would fundamentally change American policy in the Middle East and keep "Zionists" from controlling it, civil rights activist and Baptist minister Jesse Jackson was quoted as saying Tuesday.

The quote appears in an article written in the New York Post by Amir Taheri, who spoke with Jackson in Evian, France, where Jackson participated in the World Policy Forum.

Jackson said that the most important change in the U.S. administration's policy under Barack Obama would occur in the Middle East, where "decades of putting Israel's interests first" – as Jackson is quoted – would end.

"Jackson believes that, although 'Zionists who have controlled American policy for decades' remain strong, they'll lose a great deal of their clout when Barack Obama enters the White House," the Post article continued. It is not clear from the report what part of Jackson's comments was made before the World Policy Forum and what part was made in a conversation with Taheri.

****

Obama's campaign responded to Jackson's statements Tuesday by stressing that "Rev. Jesse Jackson Sr. is not an adviser to the Obama campaign and is therefore in no position to interpret or share Barack Obama's views on Israel and foreign policy."

Rush Limbaugh Unhinged: Spews racist hatred against black people

Video is available at Crooks and Liars

As we are witnessing, the conservative movement is in shambles now and the only thing they can do is spew racist hatred out into the world and hope it sticks to their audience in droves. And how is the conservative right going to make sure race is all you can think of when you think of the name Obama?

How about by making the case that blacks in general are lazy, angry, and engaged in a 3 decades old plot to train black children as militants against the US? It's those scary black terrorists again. Don't think anyone would actually SAY that? Think again.

Here are few of the quotes Rush Limbaugh recently said on his radio program:

Limbaugh: We know that technological advancement is going along at light speed. And yet during this period of time, whether it be the last 57 years or be it the last 20 years, it seems that a majority of the black population has remained angry, frustrated, and behind. They've been left behind. They are acting like they've been left behind, and of course we've heard that this is because of racism, natural systemic institutional racism in America, that we are unfair, that this country is just horrible and rotten.

...The federal government became the father. The father didn't have to hang around in order for the kids to be okay, depending on how you define okay. But as you study more and more of this ACORN stuff, you find that it has been part of an entire movement that has been going on for two, maybe three decades, right under our noses.

We thought that it was just liberal welfare policies and all that that kept blacks from progressing while other minorities grew and prospered, but no, it is these wackos from Bill Ayers to Jeremiah Wright to other anti-American Afrocentric black liberation theologists with ACORN, and Barack Obama is smack dab in the middle of it, they have been training young black kids to hate, hate, hate this country, and they trained their parents before that to hate, hate, hate this country. It was a movement. It was a Bill Ayers, anti-capitalist, anti-American educational movement. ACORN is how it was implemented, right under our noses.
It has been a movement, it has been a religion, and Obama and Jeremiah Wright and William Ayers were all up to their big ears in it.

Hip-hop icon Nas stumps for Obama at Hampton University

Rap star Nas greeted some 900 people at Hampton University's Convocation Center on Sunday as part of a rally and registration event hosted by the Barack Obama campaign. The rapper is a sometimes controversial figure but is nonetheless considered one of hip-hop's most respected and politically minded figures.

Not that that means he's always been interested in politics, mind you.

"I have never voted before," the rapper said before addressing the crowd. He is 35 years old. The son of a jazz musician, Nas grew up in the housing projects of Queens, N.Y., and his opinions reflect the approach that rappers have historically taken toward voting and politics, which is to say none.

"I've never seen a reason to vote. I would speak out against voting. If you'd seen what happened in my community, it's a shame. People in jail, guns, drugs ... I always felt like there were thing happenings in my community that would have never been allowed to happen in other communities. There was no help. But now, it's a new day."

Drudge Plays the Race Card

From the Huffington Post

In the New York Times, Adam Nagourney identifies "race" as one of the six factors that could prevent the election of Barack Obama. The others, as paraphrased by Mark Halperin, are "(1) not everyone who has recently registered as a Democrat may vote on Election Day; (2) the Democrats' improved voter turnout effort may still not work as effectively as the Republicans' effort, (3) the race may swing back to McCain under the "pendulum theory," and (4) a national security event in the closing days could "shuffle the deck of cards," and (5) the Ayers attack could end up sticking."

Matt Drudge appears to have decided which horse he is going to ride. All day, the Drudge Report, which has been more one-sided than usual recently (lots of Bill Ayers, little Troopergate), has featured this picture of Barack Obama (presumably) campaigning in Ohio.

Well, it worked on Harold Ford.

So McCain should should be President because....

From Daily Kos

...at the direction of unrepentant terrorist Bill Acorn, Buddhist Democratic candidate Barack O'Leary, who is not eligible to run for President on account of the fact that his birth certificate says he was born in Europe, instructed a voter registration group known as Filbert to conspire with the Iraqi government to give risky loans to black people, which has caused the nihilistic practice of the U.S. government bailing out Walmart, which is especially bad when you consider the fact that Tony Rezko, who is currently in prison for letting gay men and women get married in Kenya, is trying to force them to unionize, a practice that maverick Sarah Palin said "No, thank you" to as mayor of Alabama when she wasn't steadfastly monitoring whether or not Vladimir Preston was or was not rearing his head out from Mexico, which we need to build a wall around, because the mostest importantest thing to the U.S. Americans is who is going to pick our orange juice for $50 an hour, which we can't do on account of the fact that Raila Odinga wants to tax not just the RICH, but the Sexual Education Class for kindergartners, which is why YOU MUST VOTE for What's-His-Name, who ABSOULTELY AND COMPLETELY has a plan to catch Harry Pelosi, and whom Republicans only nominated because the rest of their candidates were total ball-sacks.

Will Racism Destroy the GOP?

From Daily Kos

Yesterday, we were treated to the bizarre spectacle of John McCain trying to talk down his own supporters as their anger boiled over and they slandered Obama in crazed, often racist terms.

"No, ma'am," McCain replied to a woman's declaration that Obama was an "Arab terrorist."

Yeah - where would you have gotten that crazy idea?

Apparently, McCain and his advisers had no idea how ugly the strain of race-baiting they were stirring up would look, once it was out there in the light of day, and are now reconsidering their strategy. Funny, since anyone who's stopped by NoQuarter or RedState lately could have told them exactly what to expect.

McCain's strange contortions in trying to raise doubts about Obama show the dilemma the GOP finds itself in. The attacks that conservatives seem to relish most, be it Ayers, Wright, or Obama's obscure ties to African dictators, have practically no substance or bearing on the day to day concerns of voters and little appeal to the independents the GOP needs to win elections. But, should Obama get elected, that's exactly what we can expect from the right-wing noise machine, in spades. I wouldn't be surprised if the likes of Limbaugh and Hannity are secretly salivating over the prospect of an Obama presidency, so they can crank the hate and fear up to 11 and sell lots of books with scary titles.

In some ways, the rise of Obama-hatred is just a manifestation of a larger trend that's been bubbling under for quite some time. With whites set to become a minority within decades, it may have been inevitable. Almost every country with a large influx of immigrants has seen a nativist political movement rise up to counter the cultural shift. Dovetail that xenophobic strain with the cultural conservatism that has been the mainstay of the GOP base for the past couple decades, and you could have a powerful movement focused on American traditionalism, one that has been building for some time but that was sparked into being by the first black president.

If Obama gets elected, expect to hear lots of "Remember when..." and "I barely recognize this country anymore!"

At the same time, this week's embarrassing focus on McCain's unruly crowds revealed that this movement could do more to hurt the GOP than to help it.

Republican Congressman Ray La Hood denounced Palin's attacks on Obama, saying they "don't befit the office she's running for" and "certainly don't reflect the nature of the man." It's also hard to interpret McCain's clumsy walking back of his own attacks as anything other than a response to GOP insiders worried about where this is taking them.

So they've lost David Brooks, and Bill Buckley's son...you have to wonder how many other fiscal/libertarian conservatives are going to flee the GOP if the turn towards "small town values" and cultural issues continues, combined with the newfound race-baiting rhetoric directed towards Obama. What happens if that rhetoric boils over into instances of right-wing domestic terrorism and violence a la Timothy McVeigh?

And so the GOP will face a choice, both now and in 2012. Do they go full-in with the culture war approach epitomized by Palin, Tom Tancredo and others? Or will they move in the other direction, towards a kind of social moderation of the kind practiced by Schwarzenegger or Michael Bloomberg? And, if they do moderate themselves, how will the rabid, nativist element of the base react?
