Russian experts are in Tehran to install the Tor M1 Air Defense System and train Iranian forces on operating and maintaining the equipment.
Head of the Russian Federal Service for Military and Technical Cooperation, Mikhail Dmitriev said the Defense System is a surface-to-air short range missile.
Under a US $700 million Iran-Russia contract, Moscow has provided Tehran with the Tor M1 Air Defense System and now sent technicians to supervise the training process, said the Russian official.
Both sides reached an agreement on the issue following the fourth Iran-Russia Joint Defense Cooperation Commission on Dec. 19, 2007.
