The latest issue of American Conservative issue features a cover story titled "Declaring Forever War: Giuliani has surrounded himself with advisors who think the Bush Doctrine didn't go nearly far enough."The cover image depicts Rudy Giuliani in fascist garb:

I personally think Rudi Giuliani would be one dangerous president, he would be like Bush on steroids, IMO.

Eric Dondero said...: Ahh yes, the world turned upside down. The one guy on the GOP side who is Pro-Tax cuts, Pro-Choice and Pro-Tolerance on Gays, is considered the "Fascist."

While the other guy, who apologizes for Islamo-Fascism, warms up to CAIR and defends the Palestinians, and wants to throw women in jail for protecting their reproductive rights is considered the "libertarian."

Unknown said...: I just don't get the "Islamo Fascism" non sense that the Right dreamed up, I don't get the connection. Fascism is an authoritarian government, militarized society, Extreme nationalism and pro coporations which describes Bush more than some islamist. Snowden Gets Venezuela, Nicaragua Asylum Offers
CARACAS, Venezuela -- The quest by NSA leaker Edward Snowden for a safe haven has taken a turn toward Latin America, with offers for asylum coming from the leftist presidents of Nicaragua and Venezuela.

But there were no immediate signs that efforts were underway to bring him to either nation after Nicolas Maduro of Venezuela and Daniel Ortega of Nicaragua made their offers during separate speeches in their home countries Friday.

The offers came one day after leftist South American leaders gathered to denounce the rerouting of Bolivian President Evo Morales' plane over Europe amid reports that the fugitive American was aboard.

Syria's Assad Brags In Wake Of Morsi's Fall
Syrian President Bashar Assad said in an interview published Thursday that his government had fended off everything his enemies had thrown at him and that the only remaining threat to his rule was a far-off – and improbable – foreign intervention.

In comments to the state-run Al-Thawra newspaper, Assad rejected the idea that what has transpired in Syria for more than two years is a revolution. Instead, he reiterated his past claims that it is a conspiracy by Western and some Arab states to destabilize his country.

Geraldo Rivera, already famous for saying that Trayvon Martin's hoodie got him killed by George Zimmerman, said Friday that he thought Zimmerman would dodge a murder conviction because the nearly all-white jury would probably have killed Martin too. Rivera was speaking on "Fox & Friends" just as Zimmerman's defense attorneys prepared to deliver their closing argument, thus bringing the trial to a close. He said he had always felt that the case was one of total self-defense on Zimmerman's part, and he blamed Al Sharpton for the case having been brought to trial at all.

In just one such country, Japan, at the end of March 2008, we had more than 99,000 people connected to the U.S. military living and working there. What do Japan and Germany and the 40 plus other countries have to do with 9/11? This has nothing to do with our defence. These massive concentrations of American military power outside the United States are not needed for our defence. They are, if anything, a prime contributor to our numerous conflicts with other countries. They are also unimaginably expensive. The United States spends approximately 250 billion each year maintaining its global military presence. The sole purpose of this is to give us hegemony -- that is, control or dominance -- over as many nations on the planet as possible. It’s not about defence, it’s about dominance.
